Third LMP3 race of the year and third victory for DUQUEINE Automotive

The NORMA M30 has once again won the Asian Le Mans Series, this time at Sepang. After Nielsen Racing in Australia, it's GRAFF’s turn to win this third round of the Asian championship.

The third round of the 2019/2020 Asian Le Mans Series took place on the Sepang circuit in Malaysia in a particularly severe weather environment. Heavy rain during practice and qualifying, followed by a thunderstorm during the race did not allow competitors to start directly.

During this race, GRAFF entered a second NORMA M30 for a total of four NORMA prototypes at the start. Challenged by Nielsen Racing during the second round of the championship, the French team marked their first victory in the LMP3 category in the Asian championship with a late arrival on Saturday night.

At the wheel of NORMA N°9, Eric Trouillet, Sebastian Page and David Droux won for the very first time in the Asian Le Mans Series and took the opportunity to climb on the provisional podium of the category in the general classification. Nielsen Racing places NORMA N°3 in second position while the sister car N°3 finishes in fourth position in the LMP3 category.

"It was a special race with a lot of track events, but we managed to keep a good pace with a good team strategy to win. We are very happy to win a first race in this championship, the car was perfect even more with the best time in the race."

David Droux, NORMA M30 N°9

“It was an intense race and full of twists and turns. The delayed start due to rain allowed the Nielsen team to repair (because of an incident in qualification) the car of Colin Noble and Tony Wells (N°2) in the running for the championship. We did our best to help them and they were finally able to start. The race was full of twists but GRAFF and Nielsen did an exceptional job to bring back this victory and second place to Norma. Thanks to them !”
