“DUQUEINE Team” announces its 2020 sports program

After two seasons at the top category of the European Le Mans Series, the DUQUEINE Engineering Team becomes “DUQUEINE Team” and renews its entry to the European Le Mans Series championship in LMP2 category. Gilles DUQUEINE's structure is also a candidate for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020.

Three new drivers will take the wheel of the Oreca 07 in 2020. After their first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and an encouraging European season, the four 2019 drivers give way to three endurance talents: Tristan Gommendy, Jonathan Hirschi and Konstantin Tereschenko.

With ten entries and four podiums for Tristan Gommendy and seven for Jonathan Hirschi, this powerful driver duo has competed together at Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series during the last two seasons. The crew will be completed by the 25-year-old driver Konstantin Tereshchenko. The Russian athlete has just finished a season in the European Le Mans Series and has also participated in the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category.

Wishing once again to enter the famous Le Mans race in 2020, this experienced trio and expert in endurance competition will be a real strength for the Team which intend to continue its evolution within the elite of the endurance world.

The Oreca 07 demonstrated its leadership in the LMP2 category. The team will obviously trust Oreca again for the 2020 season. The prototype will always be fitted with Michelin tires.

Gilles DUQUEINE, owner of the Team has decided to name Max Favard as Team Principal. Former Operations Engineer of DUQUEINE Team, he is now taking the key position and will be in charge of carrying out the challenges of 2020.

“I’m very excited to start this 2020 season with Max Favard as the team’s Principal. Max has demonstrated his professionalism and his great qualities and it is therefore quite legitimately that I chose to trust him with this mission." Gilles DUQUEINE

"I am sincerely honoured to take on these duties, I thank Gilles DUQUEINE for his confidence. I am looking forward to getting back on track with the team in order to fine-tune the car set up and new organisation with the firm intention of creating a surprise with this top-notch crew." Max Favard

The DUQUEINE Team line-up

“It is with great pleasure that I join DUQUEINE Team. I sincerely thank Gilles DUQUEINE and Max Favard for their confidence and the role they entrusted me. Their desire to create the best possible crew shows a lot about their ambitions. I know perfectly Jonathan Hirschi with whom I enjoy working. I am also impatient to share the wheel with Konstantin who I followed last year, a very fast driver. Three of us will form a homogeneous crew.” Tristan Gommendy

“I can’t wait to start the season! Everything went well this winter to prepare this project also and the feeling with the team is excellent. Regarding our ambitions for the 2020 season, we aim for the top 3 even if we are aware of the level of our opponents. This campaign promises to be higher than ever but we will give everything to reach this podium goal!” Jonathan Hirschi

"I am truly honored to be part of DUQUEINE Team this season! We have a very good team.
