History

THE ORIGIN

The history of the DUQUEINE Group began in the 1970s when brothers Gilles and Vincent DUQUEINE built racing cars. This adventure will lead them to a world first: the first carbon-shelled F3 in 1984. In 1992, the DUQUEINE group oriented its development towards aeronautics in the following years.

THE MEETING

It was only in 2011 that the meeting between Gilles DUQUEINE and Yann BELHOMME changed the fate of the two men. Yann Belhomme is an engineer and Gilles Duqueine his pilot, the two entrepreneurs decided to set up an entity dedicated to the development of motorsport. It is therefore quite legitimately that in 2014, DUQUEINE Engineering was born.

THE TEAM

It was only in 2011 that the meeting between Gilles DUQUEINE and Yann BELHOMME changed the fate of the two men. Yann Belhomme is an engineer and Gilles Duqueine his pilot, the two entrepreneurs decided to set up an entity dedicated to the development of motorsport. It is therefore quite legitimately that in 2014, DUQUEINE Engineering was born.

Starting with the FFSA GT Championship in France and the Renault Sport Trophy in 2014 and 2015, the DUQUEINE Team is focusing on the LMP3 prototypes in 2016 and 2017 with European Le Mans Series and VdeV Endurances Series. As a renowned driver's army, the team is one of the top teams in both series and will earn a good third place in the VdeV series. The year 2016 is all the more important for the team with the opening of a training center in the heart of the Mechanical Pole of Alès.

In 2018, DUQUEINE Engineering is entering the European Le Mans Series, the LMP2 series, in the premier category. Led by Pierre Ragues, Nicolas Jamin and Nelson Panciatici, the Oreca 07 of the team is often in the top 5 of the competition, signing a pole position in Portimao and a podium at Castellet.

In 2019, the DUQUEINE team continues to win the European Le Mans Series with Nicolas Jamin, Pierre Ragues and Richard Bradley, while Romain Dumas is the team's star guest for the team's first ever participation in the race of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

THE MANUFACTURER

It is also in 2018 that DUQUEINE Engineering buys the prototype manufacturer LMP3: NORMA Auto Concept. Renamed NORMA Automotive since its acquisition, the brand continues to live under the DUQUEINE entity with the manufacture of LMP3 prototypes now made in Alès. The CN prototypes of the brand are entrusted to Nova Proto in partnership with DUQUEINE. With this acquisition, Gilles DUQUEINE returns to the origin of his passion and intend to shine the NORMA M30 LMP3 on the international scene.

THE FUTUR OF DUQUEINE

From 2020, all prototypes will be signed DUQUEINE Automotive and will be built in a brand new factory. The group's expansion plans are launched to build new buildings in the Mechanical Pole, including the future New Tech building. This will allow Duqueine Engineering to also offer development to manufacturers in hybridization and electrical complement.

Other projects could see the light of day in the DUQUEINE workshops, but the current goal of the brand is to ensure the proper implementation of the new model DUQUEINE D08 LMP3 for the coming seasons and develop the performance of the team.
